Lequisha Sims

Counseling Psychology Doctoral Student at University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Lequisha Sims received her B.S. and M.S.W. from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2006 and 2009 respectively. She has over a decade of experience in working with families and children in roles ranging from a home visitor and parent educator to an in-home therapist. Most recently, Lequisha served as the supervisor for a local home visiting program aimed at reducing child abuse and neglect while increasing families' access of community resources. Currently, Lequisha is working on her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Her research interests include multicultural counseling, professional development, and resiliency. A passionate advocate for families and children, Lequisha is dedicated to improving the quality of mental health services for individuals across all cultural backgrounds.
