The science of epigenetics identifies the connection between the prenatal influences of nutrition, stress, toxins and experiences with the lasting effects on a child’s lifelong health, intelligence, temperament and development. Referencing the work of Dr. Peter Nathanielsz, in his book, "The Prenatal Prescription," we will take a look at some specific environmental factors that impact the fetal development during pregnancy and beyond. Participants will §will recognize the prenatal period as an extension of child development rather than a separate event and begin to develop positive coaching strategies to assist pregnant mothers to identify and actively engage in healthy activities during the prenatal period for improved life-long development and health outcomes for children.
